Policies and guidance

The policy and guidance documents in this section are based on those of the University, in particular the Postgraduate Senate Regulations, amended only where necessary to take account of Conservatoire personnel, structures and the practice-based nature of the Advanced Artist Diploma programme.

While they do not have the force of regulation and should be read in conjunction with the Postgraduate Senate Regulations, they do embody both Conservatoire and University policy on good supervisory practice and have been accepted by the Academic Board of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Senate of the University.

In any case where there is a discrepancy between the policies and guidance listed in this section and the Postgraduate Senate Regulations, the latter should be taken as definitive.

AdvArtDip policies and guidance

The following policy and guidance documents are specific to the AdvArtDip:

Policies and guidance for all doctoral students

As well as the policies and guidance linked to above, the AdvArtDip also adheres to a number of policy and guidance documents that are generic to all doctoral programmes delivered by the Conservatoire, including the PhD, MPhil and DPerf.

These are available on the Handbook, Policies and Guidance section of the Research and Engagement intranet pages.
